Miriam Makeba

Zenzile Miriam Makeba was a Grammy Award winning south African singer. She was born in Johannesburg on 4 March 1932. Her nicknamed was Mama Africa. Her mother was a Swazi sangoma & father was a Xhosa, who died when she was only six years old. Miriam Spent her first six months of life in jail due to her mother. Her mother was arrested due to sailing Umqombothi, an homemade beer. Her professional career began in 1950s when she was in South African jazz group She was the first singer from Africa to popularise African music in U.S. Her Best song was 'Pata Pata' which was ammazing. 

Makeba died from Heart Attach on 9 November 2008 after performing in a concert in italy.
